About the pictures: considering the huge crowd I went to the Parisian motorshow with a light equipment in order to make 3D pictures. At that time I was still working as a teacher, and I had just discovered the way to make stereoscopics with the help of the computer. But because I was not sure of the quality of the (about 3000) photographs and had not got much free time, I let the pictures sleep on the hard disk of my computer, until recently. Short before visiting the new Parisian motorshow, I suddenly felt weird as a little voice told me: "Hey my friend, you are about to go again to that Motorshow to shoot hundreds of pictures, but what about the huge amount of those you shot two years ago at the same motorshow? Are you turning mad?". "Aha! But how could I have forgotten those pictures?" I decided then to check the archives in my computer, and realized that the pictures were not that bad, and that for a very first attempt, the result was even not bad at all! The fact is that stereoscopic pictures cannot be obtained automatically. Anyway, until now I have managed to treat a few hundred images contenting myself to create each stereoscopic from a pair of pictures, without trying to edit anything. The photographs displayed here are, therefore, absolutely not retouched (contrast, brightness, etc.) simply because of 'zeitnot' (lack of time). That means that with a little editing, the pictures would have been even better! And for that very reason I do consider that ancient (2D) photography is definitely an old story! Some people would surely ask me: "And why are there so many pictures of Jaguar cars on display, more than other brands?". It's quite easy to explain: first, you have not seen the rest of the archives yet! But the fact is that it is on that stand that I spent the most time two years ago because the Jaguar staff were kind enough to close the space to the audience for more than a quarter of an hour in order to let me shoot the cars without being disturbed! I want to use the opportunity to thank them again for that gesture. |
